The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW), within the framework of the project “Empowering Communities: Comprehensive Social Support and Protection for Displaced Populations,” invites individual experts and teams of experts to participate in the competitive selection process for a Business Trainer (Reference No. 02_AASW_UNHCR_2026).
Background
The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW), in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), is implementing the project “Empowering Communities: Comprehensive Social Support and Protection for Displaced Populations.”
The project aims to support the socio-economic stabilization of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and vulnerable local families by providing entrepreneurship knowledge, business start-up skills, grant support, and subsequent business guidance.
The target communities of the project are Armavir, Vagharshapat, Ashtarak, Abovyan (including Nor Hachn), Masis, Goris, Tatev, and Tegh.
Objective of the Assignment
The Business Trainer will be responsible for delivering entrepreneurship development training for representatives of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh and vulnerable local families, supporting the development of business ideas, preparation of business plans, and strengthening participants’ practical entrepreneurial skills.
Scope of Work
The Business Trainer shall be responsible for the following tasks:

Deliver a training programme on “Business Planning and Implementation.”

Cover the following topics within the training programme:

Business idea development;
-
Market research and analysis;
-
Business model development;
-
Financial planning and budgeting;
-
Sales and customer acquisition;
-
Marketing;
-
Risk assessment and management;
-
Entrepreneurship and soft skills;
-
Business plan development and presentation.
-
-
Support participants in the development of individual or family business plans.
-
Develop and provide training materials and practical assignments required for the implementation of the training programme.
-
Ensure proper documentation of participant attendance and training results.
Implementation Period
The training programme is planned to be implemented during June–July 2026.
For organizational efficiency, up to two training sessions may be conducted within the same day.
Expected Deliverables
-
A developed and delivered training programme.
-
10 training groups implemented (with an average of 15 participants per group), each consisting of 6 training sessions of 3 hours each.

Business plans developed by participants.
-
Training materials and practical assignments delivered.
-
Narrative reports on implemented activities submitted.
Note: Training groups will be conducted in parallel; therefore, at least two trainers are expected to be selected under this assignment.
Reporting Requirements
The Business Trainer will report directly to the Project Manager and/or the designated Project Coordinator.
The Trainer shall:

Deliver the training sessions according to the approved schedule;

Maintain all required participant attendance and training documentation;

Submit summary reports on the implementation of the training programme;

Provide the project team with participants’ business plans and any other required materials.
Required Qualifications

University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field;
-
At least 5 years of professional experience in entrepreneurship development, business consulting, or business training;
-
At least 3 years of experience working with vulnerable populations within entrepreneurship development or livelihood support programmes;
-
Proven experience in business plan development and evaluation;
-
Strong training delivery and facilitation skills;
-
Excellent communication, mentoring, and advisory skills.

Both individual experts and teams of experts are eligible to apply, provided that they meet the requirements outlined in this Terms of Reference.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting relevant education, professional experience, and experience in similar assignments;

Financial Proposal, indicating the cost per training session (excluding transportation, accommodation, and any other logistical expenses);

Technical Proposal, describing the proposed training methodology, learning approaches, thematic coverage, and practical implementation methods.
For applications submitted by teams of experts, applicants should additionally provide information on the team composition, the role of each team member, and the CVs of all proposed experts.
AASW reserves the right to request additional information from applicants and to invite shortlisted candidates for an interview and/or presentation as part of the selection process.
